Description of Celtic Pop

Molding a host of traditional Celtic instrumentation -- most notably, the lively sounds of harps, fiddles, flutes, tin whistes, the bodhran, and uillean pipes -- into a contemporary pop structure, Celtic Pop links the Emerald Isle's beloved folk heritage with mainstream music's energy and accessibility. Evident in the sounds of Irish Singer-Songwriter Christy Moore, the vocal musings of Scotland-born, Canadian-bred performer John McDermott, and the folk-centered Celtic fusion of sibling quartet the Corrs, Celtic Pop marries ancient elements of Irish culture with modern pop music.
