On their 1993 debut, the Atlanta girl group delivers a fine mix of hip-hop-tinged R&B similar to music by TLC and En Vogue, but with a solid gospel influence (sisters LaTocha and Tamika's father was a reverend). Signed and produced by Jermaine Dupri, the ladies scored a big hit with their first single "Just Kickin' It," which propelled the record to platinum status.

En Vogue? Mary J. Blige? Phooey--they're not even TLC, much less Kris Kross. Their hit weak, their album a guaranteed cutout, they're worthy of note only because they may convince Jermaine Dupri he can repeat "Jump" whenever he wants. Don't encourage this antisocial delusion. (Grade - C)
